Your Data Stays Yours

We built TradeRecap to help trading communities, not to collect your data. We do NOT store your messages, we do NOT read your trades, and we do NOT use your data for any purpose other than generating summaries for YOUR server.

What We DON'T Do

Let's be crystal clear about what TradeRecap does NOT do:

  • We do NOT store your messages — Messages are processed in real-time and immediately discarded
  • We do NOT read your trades — We don't access your trading data for our own benefit
  • We do NOT scrape your chat — We're not collecting trade ideas or positions for ourselves
  • We do NOT sell your data — Your information is never shared with third parties for profit
  • We do NOT train AI on your data — Your messages are not used to train any models

1. What We Collect

TradeRecap collects the following information to provide our service:

  • Discord Server ID: To associate your bot configuration with your server
  • Discord User ID: The user who added the bot to the server, for subscription management
  • Channel IDs: Which channels to monitor and where to post summaries
  • Usage Counts: Number of messages processed per day (for plan limits)
  • Payment Information: Handled securely by Stripe (we never see your card details)

Important: Message content passes through our system to OpenAI for processing, but is never stored in our database. Summaries are posted directly to your Discord thread.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Generate Summaries: Messages are sent to OpenAI, processed, and immediately discarded
  • Post to Your Server: Summaries go directly to your Discord thread — we don't keep copies
  • Google Sheets (Optional): If you enable it, positions sync to YOUR spreadsheet that you own
  • Track Usage: We count messages to enforce plan limits — not what they contain

That's it. We don't analyze your trades, we don't build profiles, we don't do anything else with your data.

3. Data Retention

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide TradeRecap:

  • Discord: Platform integration and bot hosting
  • OpenAI: AI processing for summaries
  • Google: Google Sheets integration (optional)
  • Stripe: Payment processing
  • Vercel: Website hosting

Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of your data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of optional data collection
  • Withdraw consent at any time

6. GDPR Compliance

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under GDPR. We process your data based on legitimate interest (providing the service you requested) and consent (for optional features like Google Sheets integration). You may contact us to exercise your GDPR rights including access, rectification, erasure, and data portability.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS)
  • Secure credential storage
  • Limited access to production systems
  • Regular security reviews

9. Changes to This Policy
